Innovation Utility: Designing Medical Technology for Practical Use- WIE ILC 2021

This session will examine problem-solving approaches from both the engineering and medical perspectives and discuss potential gaps that may be addressed to better align these two fields. By breaking down the barriers between physicians and engineers, a higher level of medtech design quality can be achieved that will improve patient care delivery for all stakeholders. The importance of customer discovery in the clinical world will also be discussed at length. The session will wrap up with some key take-aways that the engineering audience may keep in mind as they develop biomedical technology that is both helpful and accessible to healthcare professionals and their patients.
