Software companies or platforms today are valued at tens of billions of dollars, for example Door Dash at $60B. On the contrary other hardware and infrastructure companies are struggling with their traditional business models which are quickly becoming ancient. Enterprises and businesses today are no different from consumers and are demanding not only simple easy push button solutions but are also looking for as-a-service flexible buying experience with simplified contracts and flexible consumption models from vendors.  This is forcing traditional vendors who sell hardware to reevaluate their existing buying models and to innovate in the areas of pricing, licensing, technical enablement and services. These companies are forced to pivot to new age XaaS models.
