Ananthanarayanan Chockalingam

Biography

Ananthanarayanan Chockalingam received Ph.D. degree in electrical communication engineering (ECE) from the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore, India, in 1993. From December 1993 to May 1996, he was a Postdoctoral Fellow and an Assistant Project Scientist with the Department of electrical and computer engineering, University of California San Diego, San Diego, CA, USA. From May 1996 to December 1998, he was with Qualcomm, Inc., San Diego, CA, USA. as a Staff Engineer or Manager with the systems engineering group. In December 1998, he joined the Faculty of the Department of ECE, IISc, Bangalore, India, where he is currently a Professor, working in the area of wireless communications and networking. He was the recipient of the Swarnajayanti Fellowship from the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India. He was an Associate Editor for the IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology and an Editor of the IEEE TRANSACTIONS ON WIRELESS COMMUNICATIONS. He was the Guest Editor of the IEEE Journal on Selected Areas in Communications (Special Issue on Multiuser Detection for Advanced Communication Systems and Networks) and of the IEEE Journal of Selected Topics in Signal Processing (Special Issue on Soft Detection on Wireless Transmission). He is a Fellow of the Indian National Academy of Engineering, the National Academy of Sciences, India, the Indian National Science Academy, and the Indian Academy of Sciences.
