Stephen Phillips 2020 Vice President of the IEEE Educational Activities Board (EAB) recognized the IEEE Houston Section’s exceptional achievements in the Continuing Education on Demand (CED) program, based on the nomination from Ernest Njouondo.

On July 31st, 2020, the Houston Section received the Section Professional Development Award, “For the sustained delivery of the IEEE Houston Section Continuing Education on Demand (CED) program to practicing electrical engineers for the past 25 years.”

The Section Professional Development Award was established by the IEEE EAB in 2001 and recognizes IEEE Sections for major contributions to IEEE members in the areas of lifelong learning, continuing education, and professional development.

This award is given to Sections whose contributions to continuing education and professional development are outstanding as evidenced by their quality, comprehensiveness, innovation, or impact. This award was first offered in 2003.
