Proctor Registration Process for IEEEXtreme. 

IEEEXtreme 15.0 --> WHAT IS IEEEXTREME?

IEEEXtreme is a global challenge in which teams of IEEE Student members – advised and proctored by an IEEE member, and often supported by an IEEE Student Branch – compete in a 24-hour time span against each other to solve a set of programming problems.

WHO IS A PROCTOR? A proctor is mandatory for each team participating in the competition. The Proctor would monitor the competition activities. Both team members and proctors may participate remotely in the competition this year.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

1) Proctors should be IEEE members of higher membership grades (not undergraduate or Graduate Student members).

2) Student Branch Counselors, Department Chairs, or IEEE Young Professionals members make great proctors as they are all higher-grade IEEE members.

HELP FINDING A PROCTOR:

1) Upon registering within vTools you will enter your student branch.

2) If a proctor has pre-registered, choose a name from the drop-down list of Proctors.

3) If one does not pre-populate, you may enter the membership number of a proctor you have identified.

4) If you are unable to find one follow these steps:

a. Check the list of proctors Check the list of registered proctors and their universities/colleges and check if you have your University name there.

b. Reach out to region leads Directly reach out to region leads to get the contact details and connect with a registered proctor. (see the list here)

STEPS TO REGISTER AS A PROCTOR:

Step 1. Open the proctor eligibility and requirements page and click on Register Now. Click here to open the proctor eligibility and requirements page.

Step 2. Log in or create an account

Step 3. Select “Proctors”

Step 4. Enter your membership number.

Step 5. Select the school/university you will be available to proctor at.

HOW TO PREPARE FOR IEEEXTREME?

1. Gather your team. Up to 3 IEEE student members may compete together.

2. Locate your proctor. Proctors should be IEEE members of higher membership grades (not undergraduate or Graduate Student members). Student Branch Counselors, Department Chairs, or IEEE Young Professionals members make great proctors.

NOTE: If you are not able to find a Proctor, you may request someone to register as a Proctor. Proctors must be IEEE members of higher membership grades. Student or Graduate Student Members are not allowed to proctor but are encouraged to participate as team members in the competition.

3. Practice, practice, practice Visit our practice community with challenges from previous Xtreme competitions.
