About the Panelists:

- Seda Gürses is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Multi-Actor Systems at TU Delft at the Faculty of Technology Policy and Management, an affiliate at the COSIC Group at the Department of Electrical Engineering (ESAT), KU Leuven, and a member of the Institute for Technology in the Public Interest. Previously she was an FWO post-doctoral fellow at COSIC/ESAT and a research associate at Princeton University and NYU. Her work focuses on privacy enhancing and protective optimization technologies (PETs and POTs), privacy engineering, as well as questions around software infrastructures, social justice, and political economy as they intersect with computer science.

- Melodena Stephens is Professor of Innovation Management, Mohammed Bin Rashid School of Government (MBRSG) in Dubai, UAE. She has close to three decades of corporate, academic, and consulting experience. She has lived in India, the USA, Taiwan, the UAE, and Germany, holding various leadership roles. Her expertise is strategy in areas like agile government, innovation, brand building, and crisis management. She is the author of over 175 academic publications - the most recent books are AI Smart Kit Agile Decision Making on AI and Business With Purpose: Advancing Social Enterprise. She is the founder of the Academy of International Business – the Middle East North Africa Chapter, which has published over 60+ cases on the MENA region preserving organizational memories and creating business and culturally relevant educational material for the region. She is passionate about systems thinking, thinking beyond the box, and making the world a better place.

- Mark A. Vasquez (moderator) is a Certified Association Executive (CAE) with over 25 years of experience in association management at IEEE. He currently serves as the senior program manager for IEEE TechEthics, a program that drives conversations about the ethical and societal impacts of technology. In this capacity, he works to develop relationships with others in the technology ethics community, produces events, convenes thought leaders, and more. Mark is an engineering graduate of The Cooper Union.
