Citizen Data Privacy & Data Control in Tech Applications

When it comes to social digital privacy, there is a subset of privacy concerns that the current and ever improving innovation and inventions can help solve to address data privacy concerns more effectively.

Using technology to facilitate the digitization of services can not only generate more privacy concerns among the users, but it can provide more effective and proactive means by enabling users to better understand and control their data while using tech applications.

The truth is most users don't even understand all the data traffic that occurs while they use tech applications. As a result, many users may not completely grasp the amount of personal information that they provide, keeping in mind that most information about users does not really change over time.

Thus, it is critical for users to understand at the bare minimum the types and amount of personal information in ways that enable them to completely control their information and what it is used for even after providing them. Technology comes into play as the interconnected interface that facilitates the real-time interaction of control and consent between the users, the tech applications, and the data owners.

The data privacy in tech applications can incorporate the privacy by design approach by also enabling ways for the users to control what data they provide and when and where their data is used through technology.
